These are games that inspired both the world and the general visual style of Nemaril.
The world also takes a lot of inspirations from the D&D campaign setting Forgotten Realms, specifically the 2nd Edition region boxes The North and Spellbound With the following lands as the main sources of ideas.
Other ideas come from much further back, the Hyborian Age of Robert Howards Conan stories. While most commonly depicted as a mediterranean or desert setting, the world also includes various temperate and sub-arctic regions, though few of the stories are set there.
In addition to these inspirations for the world of Darkwind, I also got numerous ideas for gameplay and the overall design, as well as some specific worldbuilding elements, from these games.
